Amphenol Corporation (NYSE: APH) announced on August 4, 2025, that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) business of CommScope Holding Company, Inc. CommScope Refocuses on Core Business and Debt Reduction
The CCS division, CommScope’s largest business unit, generated $2.8 billion in net sales in 2024, largely fueled by the surging demand for generative AI-powered data centers.
In contrast, its other two units:
- Networking, Intelligent Cellular & Security Solutions (NICS) – now branded as RUCKUS Networks – earned $1.05 billion
- Access Network Solutions (ANS) brought in $360 million
Struggling with long-term debt, CommScope plans to use the $10 billion net proceeds (post taxes and transaction costs) to:
- Repay all outstanding debt
- Redeem all preferred equity held by The Carlyle Group
